One City

The Council’s urban affairs magazine, One City, coupled with the Council’s cable program, are two primary vehicles used to disseminate information about urban affairs. Both vehicles have made it possible for the Council to surface important issues and introduce our readers and viewers to some of Chicago’s leading policy-makers and advocates.

One City has a shelf-life of two years and is mailed to Council membership, elected and appointed officials, universities, community groups, business, trade and civic organizations, foundations, and the local and national media. The Council’s weekly cable show has the potential to reach 350,000 Chicagoans.

Urban Affairs Update

Urban Affairs Update (the newsletter) is produced quarterly and informs our members and the public about Council events, people, and projects. The newsletter is also used to highlight the activities and services of other groups that are working on similar projects or issues. The newsletter is sent to foundations, the media, elected and appointed officials, academic institutions, and business, civic and community leaders and groups.
