Communication between and among Chicagos cultural institutions is essential. The purpose of this issue of One City is to share information and to broaden the discussion about Chicagos cultural institutions. We are pleased to include a summary of an upcoming report commissioned by the Human Relations Foundation of Chicago, examining the role that racial, ethnic, and gender issues have historically played in the policies of major cultural institutions in Chicago.
