Youth Crime in Grand Boulevard:
Attitudes, Perceptions,
and Public Policy

This special edition of One City focuses on the Council’s juvenile justice initiative and its work with Youth As Resources (YAR) in the Grand Boulevard community on Chicago’s South side. The Council, YAR, and research partner, Metro Chicago Information Center (MCIC), surveyed residents in Grand Boulevard about their perceptions about youth crime and the Juvenile Court. This issue of One City highlights the data from the survey and the Community Convention on youth crime that followed. One City also highlights the work of YAR, including articles written by teens.
